Police Searching For Armed Carjacking Suspect In Northridge

NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA) — Police in Northridge were searching for an armed carjacking and kidnapping suspect who led them on a wild chase Saturday night.

The carjacking reportedly occurred at a parking lot. The suspect led police on a chase through Van Nuys in a white pick-up, blowing through traffic lights.

Police say a man, believed to be the victim, was in the bed of the pick-up during the chase.

The suspect bailed in the area of Frankfort St. and Yolanda Ave. in Northridge. Police say he was wearing jeans, a red shirt, had the suspect's red backpack and was armed with a handgun.

The carjacking victim was found at the scene. The victim's condition was not immediately available.
