NFL Website Profile Page For 'Los Angeles Rams' Raises Rumors

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The NFL website seemed to some as though it were making plans for the return of the Rams on Monday.

A search on NFL.com revealed a page with the words "Los Angeles Rams" in off-set font alongside St. Louis Rams news, stats, videos and other content.

Not only does the URL of the page include the phrase "losangelesrams," but the link to buy St. Louis Rams tickets for the 2015 season also has the same phrase embedded in the website address.

The bio section of the page states the team was founded in 1937 and played at what then was called Anaheim Stadium. The franchise moved east to St. Louis before the 1995 season.

Fans, however, pointed out the NFL website has several "legacy links" for some teams that date back to as early as the 1990s, including the Phoenix Cardinals (now know as the Arizona Cardinals) and the Boston (now New England) Patriots.

These legacy pages exist with teams that may have a history in a city, considered to be significant, despite the fact that they had moved.

Still, the page will likely do little to dispel reports that Rams owner Stan Kroenke is seriously considering moving the franchise to Los Angeles.

Kroenke is part of a task force planning a new $1.8 billion stadium in suburban L.A. The Rams are year-to-year on their lease for the Edward Jones Dome, and could leave as early as 2016, meaning the upcoming NFL season could be their last in the Midwest.
