NFL Owners To Consider Future Inglewood Stadium For Super Bowl

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — There's no NFL stadium in Inglewood yet, but that won't stop league officials from potentially deciding to have Los Angeles host the Super Bowl.

The NFL Super Bowl Advisory Committee is expected to vote in May on where to hold the big game for 2019 through 2021 after selecting Houston and Minneapolis as the sites for the next two Super Bowls, according to the Los Angeles Times.

League owners will reportedly depart from the committee's "guiding principle" requiring any potential Super Bowl host to have served as a home field for at least two full seasons.

With the Rams stadium scheduled to open in 2019, the committee will allow the stadium to become Super Bowl-eligible at the end of that season, The Times reported.

Other NFL stadiums reportedly under consideration to host one of the games include Atlanta, South Florida and Tampa.
