Newport Beach Pharmacy The Latest In Rash Of OC Burglaries?

NEWPORT BEACH (AP) — Authorities in Orange County will try to determine if an overnight break-in at a Newport Beach pharmacy is connected to a rash of pharmacy burglaries this month.

Newport Beach police say Best Choice Pharmacy was hit at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators have not said what was stolen or released suspect information.

"We don't know yet what they stole," Newport Beach police Sgt. D. Joe said. "The people at the drug store are still doing inventory to determine that."

Detectives will look for any connection to previous burglaries in Anaheim, Tustin, Villa Park and Garden Grove. In those break-ins as many as five burglars made off with drugs, lottery tickets and cough syrup.
