New Security Video Released Of Horrific Ambulance Crash In Lebec

LEBEC (CBSLA.com) — New surveillance video Thursday was released in the deadly crash that involved a stolen ambulance and a big rig truck.

Paramedics responded to a seizure call on Wednesday evening, just west of Interstate 5 in Lebec.

Upon their arrival, an irate woman charged the ambulance at knife point and drove off, according to police.

Surveillance video revealed the woman traveled at 100 miles per hour along Frasier Mountain Park Road, and crashed head on into a big rig truck as it turned into the Flying J Travel Plaza.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CHP officers, 50-year-old Christina Fort, of Frazier Park, was identified as the driver of the stolen ambulance.

The big rig driver was identified as 40-year-old Nelson Martinez, of Los Angeles. Police said he worked for a trucking company in Rancho Cucamonga, and leaves behind his wife and several children.

The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to interview witnesses.
