Neighbors In OC Fight Back Against Car Vandals

TRABUCO CANYON (CBSLA.com) — A group of teenage car burglars have been nabbed in Trabuco Canyon thanks to alert neighbors.

Neighbors say there has been a rash of car burglaries resulting in loss of items like chargers and expensive glasses.

Surveillance cameras and the use of social media helped track down the vandals, who were eventually caught by the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Two alleged thieves were confronted early Tuesday morning and fled but were eventually flushed out of the bushes using the infrared camera on the sheriff's helicopter.

James Adams and David Carter, both 18, were booked into jail. Two minors were also taken away.

Deputies came back and collected one more piece of evidence, a debit card that matches the name of James Adams.
