MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Nearly two million people escaped the heat this weekend and jammed Los Angeles County beaches.

Officials report that about 934,000 people visited LA County beaches on Saturday, while close to 1 million crowded beaches on Sunday.

Manhattan Beach police said they encountered no issues despite the large crowds.

At the beaches of Venice and Santa Monica, about 30 people were stung by stingrays, officials report.
