Nearly $1.8 Million Of Marijuana Seized From 2 Rowland Heights Operations

ROWLAND HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Investigators obtained and served a search warrant at a Rowland Heights residence in which a massive marijuana-growing system was discovered on Tuesday.

Narcotics investigators made the discovery shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, after utilizing resources and conducting a surveillance operation.

Several thousand dollars and 300 marijuana plants, at various stages of growth, were seized. Authorites located several grow lights, filters, oscillating fans and other equipment from the residence.

Six suspects, including four males and two females, were arrested. One child was placed into the protective care of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Additional information then led authorities to a second Rowland Heights location in the 1200 block of Lindengrove Ave. LA Sheriff's Department narcotics investigators seized 646 marijuana plants there, though no suspects were identified.

The combined street value of the marijuana plants was estimated near $1.8 million.
