Dry Cleaning Mix-Up Throws Wrench In Wedding Dress Dynasty

Lori Sullivan was looking forward to continuing a family tradition at her daughter Jaclyn's wedding, which is in two weeks. Jaclyn was supposed to wear the simple dress her mom and grandmother wore at their weddings.

"It's 33 years for my parents and a 50 year anniversary for my grandparents, so I wanted to do a first look with my dad and grandpa and come down in their dress they had worn so many years back," Bride-to-be Jaclyn Sullivan said.

But when they recently opened up the box Lori had packed up 33 years ago after her dress had been cleaned, Lori didn't recognize what was inside.

"Low and behold, this is not the dress. Mine was a satin dress, had scalloped edges," Lori Sullivan said.  "This one's a high neck dress with lace all the way up to the neck."

Lori said her dress was priceless because she wanted to put pictures of three generations in the same dress up on the wall.

"It made my heart hurt," Lori said.

Lori and Jaclyn hope someone will recognize the dress by the following clues. It was wrapped in blue paper, and the label on the box says it was from Biljoy Creations in New York. It
was shipped to Park Avenue Bridal Shop in Orange, and it was shipped on Sept. 15, 1983.

Lori plans to put up flyers at the two area cleaners she went to in 1983. The mother and daughter believe they got someone else's dress and someone out there has
theirs.

"I would do anything to get that dress back," Jaclyn said.
