Murder Suspect In El Monte Barricade Situation Surrenders To Authorities

EL MONTE (CBSLA.com)  —  A murder suspect who hid inside an El Monte residence Thursday has surrendered to authorities.

The suspect gave up around 5:05 p.m., officials said.

The barricade situation began around 3:30 p.m. and played out on the 2500 block of Continental Avenue.

Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution as it was believed the suspect was armed.

The suspect's name was not revealed.

Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky 2, said the suspect left the residence with his hands up and surrendered without further incident.
