Documented Gang Member Arrested In Deadly Stabbing Of 51-Year-Old Man In Glendale, Police Say

GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have arrested a man suspected in Friday's stabbing death of a 51-year-old in Glendale.

Ernest Lee Culbertson, 31, of Tujunga was arrested Saturday on suspicion of murder and remains in custody in lieu of $2 million bail.

Police arrived to the scene just after 6:10 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a man down in the 1200 block of East Harvard Street in Glendale.

Officers attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead of an apparent stab wound.

Officers and detectives reviewed footage from a surveillance camera located near the crime scene, and immediately recognized Culbertson.

Culbertson, according to authorities, is a known, documented gang member who Glendale police "have had numerous contacts and arrests with."

Police said Culbertson later admitted to the crime, and according to the investigation, he and the victim were acquainted.

It is still unclear what provoked the incident.

Detectives are still seeking more evidence or any information the public may have regarding this incident.
