11 Injured During Hit-And-Run Crash In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A hit-and-run driver reportedly set off a multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon that left 11 people injured in Long Beach.

Long Beach police said it happened at 3:15 p.m. on Redondo Avenue near Stearns Street.

Officers located the alleged hit-and-run driver in Signal Hills and placed him under arrest. His name has not yet been released.

Paramedics treated 11 motorists at the scene and transported four of them to hospitals. None had life-threatening injuries, said Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department.

He said one of the vehicles involved was speeding at the time of the crash.

Redondo was closed as officers finished up their crash investigation.
