Motorist Says Man With Badge Impersonated Officer To Steal His Corolla

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities seek a man they believe stole a car Tuesday evening while using a badge and gun to impersonate a police officer in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood.

LAPD officers responding to a home in the 1200 block of North Clark Street about 8:30 p.m. say a man flashed a badge and firearm before stealing a gray 2o13 Toyota Corolla.

The owner of the car said he was handcuffed by the man, who was driving a dark Dodge Charger-type car with a blue light. Details about an accomplice were unclear Tuesday, athough police presume there was at least one.

No one was injured in the confrontation, police said.
