Motorist Killed In Vehicle That Split In 2 Pieces On Moreno Valley Freeway

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A 20-year-old motorist has died Sunday after losing control of the vehicle on the 60 Freeway.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 2 a.m. as the motorist of a 1996 Acura Integra made an unsafe maneuver on the freeway, causing the car to spin and then hit a dirt shoulder.

The car flipped over, plowed through a fence and smashed into a large tree, splitting the vehicle in two pieces upon impact, authorities said.

Police said the driver was traveling at an unknown speed while driving East heading towards Day Street.

According to officials, the driver was killed instantly in the crash.

Police are not releasing the identity of the motorist until next of kin has been notified.
