Motorist Killed After Careening Off Embankment Near Malibu Canyon

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — A driver maneuvering the winding roads near Malibu Canyon was killed Sunday when the vehicle careened off the side of an embankment Sunday, according to Los Angeles County firefighters.

Emergency personnel were called to the 25000 block of Piuma Road at approximately 10:58 a.m.

A spokesperson told City News Service the car fell 200 feet below.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the spokesperson.

The victim's identity was not immediately released.
