Motorcycle Officer, Driver Injured Following Collision In Palos Verdes

PALOS VERDES (CBSLA.com) — A motorcycle officer was injured Monday during a collision with a vehicle in a residential neighborhood.

The officer, who was responding to a report of a bicyclist down in the 2400 block of Palos Verdes Drive, was struck by a resident in the 600 block of the road as she pulled out of her driveway, according to the Palos Verdes Police Department.

The officer suffered moderate injuries when he was thrown from his motorcycle. He was treated at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and transported to Harbor General Hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Torrance Memorial Hospital.

The California Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
