Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Identified As Whittier Man

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — The motorcyclist killed in a Washington Boulevard hit-and-run crash Friday afternoon has been identified as a Whittier man.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office said Jorge Antonio Lopez-Chavira, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene following the 4:45 p.m. crash, according to coroner's investigator Betsy Magdaleno.

Lopez-Chavira was riding a motorcycle that struck a pole after being hit in the rear by a tan four-door vehicle that fled the scene, Montebello police said.

Both the motorcycle and the suspect vehicle were traveling east on Washington Boulevard at a high rate of speed before the crash. The suspect vehicle was last seen headed into Pico Rivera, police said.

Montebello police ask that anyone with information on the crash contact the department at (323) 887-1313.
