Officers Taken To Hospital After Patrol Car Is Struck By Vehicle In Irvine

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a police patrol car has been struck by a motorist in Irvine.

The crash unfolded Tuesday night on Culver Drive just south of Irvine Center Drive, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The motorist described as a woman remained at the scene, police said.

Two officers were taken to area hospitals in unknown condition.

Police said, prior to the crash, the officers were stopped with their emergency lights on after clearing a separate traffic collision.

Culver Drive just south of Irvine Center Drive has been closed while authorities investigate.
