Motorcycle Officer Airlifted To Hospital After Violent Crash In Chino

CHINO (CBSLA.com) — A police officer on a motorcycle was seriously injured in a violent crash in Chino, authorities said.

The accident happened Monday afternoon at an intersection near the 60 Freeway in the Central Avenue on- and off- ramp.

The unidentified officer was airlifted to a hospital in serious condition. The officer was said to be breathing, responsive and conscious.

It remains unclear how the accident between the officer and a red truck occurred. The driver of the truck remained at the scene to talk with officers.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating. It remains unclear who was at fault.
