Mother Of Missing Pregnant Woman Says She Doesn't Suspect Son-In-Law

TWENTYNINE PALMS (CBSLA.com)  — The mother of a missing Twentynine Palms woman said she does not suspect her son-in-law in her daughter's disappearance.

Erin Corwin, a military wife, was last seen at her home on Saturday, June 28 around 7 a.m. Corwin, three months pregnant, was headed to Joshua Tree National Park.

A search for the missing 19-year-old has been conducted by air and land.

Her husband, Marine Cpl. Jonathan Wayne Corwin,  is based at the Twentynine Palms Marine base. He reported her missing the following morning.

Corwin's mother, Lore Heavilin, said she doesn't believe her son-in-law could be linked to any possible foul play.

The woman's sudden disappearance has been called "suspicious." Her car, a 2013 Toyota Corolla, was found near the base. There has been no phone, bank or social media activity on any of the missing woman's accounts.

Homicide detectives have taken the lead role in the case but still consider it a missing persons case.

Officials said the woman's husband has been cooperative.
