Mother Arrested For Allegedly Running Down Street Naked And Intoxicated While Toddler Sat Home Alone

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — A woman was arrested in Lancaster Sunday after police allegedly found her running around half-naked in the street while her toddler daughter sat home alone.

Deputies suspect Melissa Ann Tomas, 27, was under the influence of drugs, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.

Tomas was arrested around 9 a.m. near Division Street and West Avenue K.

When deputies located her vehicle they found a children's car seat. They also found photos of a little girl on her cellphone, which led them to believe she had a child.

Deputies searched Tomas' home, where they found a 17-month-old girl they suspect was left alone for hours.

Tomas was booked at the LASD Lancaster station on suspicion of indecent exposure, child endangerment and child abandonment. Her bail was set at $100,000.
