ALDI Opens First Southern California Grocery Store In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — There's a new player in the grocery store show down in Moreno Valley and the prices are locked and loaded.

ALDI, a German discount grocery store chain, held an official grand opening Thursday at the first of eight stores in the Inland Empire.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported a line of shoppers stretched around the parking lot.

The first 100 shoppers celebrated by participating in a "golden ticket and produce for a year" sweepstakes. Shoppers also received a free eco-friendly bag.

ALDI plans to open 45 other stores in Southern California by the end of the year.
