More Than 300 Arrested At 2 Raves In Pomona, San Bernardino

POMONA (AP) Authorities said more than 300 people were arrested over the weekend at two electronic music festivals in Southern California that drew tens of thousands of people.

Police in Pomona said 148 people were arrested Saturday, the first day of the two-day HARD Day of the Dead festival at the Pomona Fairplex.

The event drew scrutiny from Los Angeles County supervisors after two young women died of suspected drug overdoses at a rave on the fairgrounds in early August. The Fairplex sits on county-owned land.

In San Bernardino, police arrested 193 people during the two-day Escape: Psycho Circus rave.

The Los Angeles Times reports most of the arrests at both events were for illegal drug possession, trespassing or public intoxication. Pomona police arrested 50 people for having fake identification.
