Moorpark Man Wanted For Allegedly Setting Wife On Fire Turns Himself In

MOORPARK (CBSLA.com) — The Moorpark man wanted for allegeldy setting his wife on fire has turned himself in, authorities said Friday.

Juan Soria Hernandez, 31, surrendered to Bakersfield police Thursday night on attempted murder charges, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said.

Hernandez is accused of dousing his 29-year-old wife with gasoline and setting her on fire Monday morning in front of their three children at the family's home in the 11800 block of Broadway Road.

The woman suffered significant burn injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The children were not injured.

Hernandez fled the scene.

He was transported back to Ventura County and booked following his arrest in Kern County.
