Moorpark Jewelry Store Owner Attacked During Robbery

MOORPARK (CBSLA.com) — The owner of a Ventura County jewelry store was attacked during an early morning robbery, police said Wednesday.

Anderson Jewelers owner David Pardo was working at his store in the 400 block of East Los Angeles Avenue in Moorpark around 1 a.m. when he heard glass shattering.

He went to the front and confronted the suspect who then attacked him, the Moorpark Police Department said.

"Pardo fled from his store and called 911. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of jewelry prior to the arrival of law enforcement," Det. John Wright said.

Pardo was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries and released.

Anyone with information on the robbery should contact Detective Wright at (805) 797-7128.
