Monday Marks Deadline To Sign Up For Covered California

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Monday marks the deadline to sign up for federal health care under Covered California and Medi-Cal.

Signups in California have already passed the one million mark, with 80,000 people signing up in just the last few days.

If the application is started before midnight Monday, patients have until April 15 to complete it.

According to officials, 90 percent of those who receive insurance through Covered California qualify for some sort of subsidy.

Anyone who is not insured in 2014 will be fined with a tax penalty.
