Mom Of 2 Allegedly Shot By Roommate In Fight Over $10 Internet Bill ID'd

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 42-year-old mother of two who was allegedly shot to death by a roommate over a $10 Internet bill has been identified by authorities.

Terri Kwan Smith was killed early Monday morning in the 5700 block of Ninth Avenue in the Hyde Park area of South Los Angeles.

The victim's 40-year-old boyfriend was also hurt. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities said that Smith got into a fight with 55-year-old roommate Kenneth Theodrick Parks.

One of them pulled out a knife, and they were both injured as a result.

Parks then shot Smith with a handgun, officers said.

The suspect was later arrested and booked on suspicion of murder.

Smith lived in a transitional housing residence with her two kids, according to Los Angeles police Detective Chris Barling,
