Mom, 23, Newborn Baby Missing In Los Angeles

UPDATE (12/12/2014 at 12:02 p.m.): Mejia and her child were found and appear to by okay, according to the LAPD.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a missing 23-year-old woman who gave birth last month.

The woman's baby daughter is also missing.

The family of Amyleila Mejia believes she is suffering with postpartum depression.

Mejia and daughter Leah were last seen Tuesday around 6 p.m. in the 100 block of Hamlet Street in Los Angeles.

Mejia is described as a Hispanic woman with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
