'Modern Family' Star Shows Scars From Breast Reduction Surgery While At SAG Awards

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter recently displayed scars more than 7 months after undergoing breast reduction surgery.

The 18-year-old Winter appeared in a black gown while walking the red carpet during the 22nd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

"There is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars," tweeted the star. "They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."

Winter, according to the Los Angeles Times, had the surgery in June.

"Humbled by all the positive feedback about my scars," said Winter via Twitter. "Embrace who you are, love every bit about you because that is what makes you … well … you."
