MIT Creates Map Highlighting LA's Most Dangerous Streets For Bicyclists

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Researchers at MIT have created an interactive map of the 2,043 bicycle crashes that were reported in Los Angeles in 2012.

Using data from LAPD reports, as well as Google Maps, analysts were able to highlight the most dangerous areas and streets for bicyclists.

The following streets had the most crashes:

Olympic: 72
Venice: 63
Sunset: 55
Van Nuys: 54
Pico: 52
Vermont: 49
Washington: 49
Sherman: 46
Wilshire: 43
Western: 42
Broadway: 41
Main: 41
Santa Monica: 38
Victory: 38
