Missing North Hills Girl, 12, Found Safe

NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A 12-year-old girl who went missing from a North Hills hotel has been found safe, police said Thursday.

Donyetta Butts disappeared Tuesday night from the Hometown Inn, in the 9400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, where she was staying with her family. She was spotted about 11:30 a.m. near the hotel after being dropped off by an unidentified woman.

"The investigation is still ongoing," Los Angeles police Lt. David Bluestein said. "We have no reason to expect foul play."

Butts has been living in California for a year with her mother, and Tuesday's disappearance was the first time she had ever walked away or been reported missing, police said.
