Missing Needles Boy, 8, Found Dead After Apparently Being Hit By Train

NEEDLES (CBSLA.com)  —  An 8-year-old boy who was reported missing in Needles Saturday has been found dead.

Kaden Lamphear apparently left his residence in the 500 block of California Avenue sometime around 7 a.m.

The Needles Police Department was told by the child's father that his son had autism.

Deputies -- along with with a search and rescue team, a Marine enforcement unit and Sheriff's helicopter -- immediately began searching the vicinity.

Sadly, around 11 a.m., officials said the boy's body was discovered near some train tracks near Yucca, Arizona.

Officials believe the boy was struck by a passing train.

Authorities said evidence obtained at the boy's home, indicate the possibility that Lamphear boarded an eastbound train near his home and traveled to the Yucca area until he disembarked.
