Missing Hikers Found On Mount Baldy

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — The search is over for two hikers on Mount Baldy who were reported missing since Sunday.

Joseph Fridlandern, 26 and Lauren Polinsky, 26 both residents of San Diego, were both located safely around 10:20 a.m. Monday and reunited their friends, according to San Bernardino Co. Sheriff-Coroner spokesperson Cindy Bachman.

Neither hiker sustained any injuries, Bachman said.

The pair became separated from their group while hiking to the Mount Baldy Summit late yesterday morning, according to Bachman.

"They went to Mount Baldy with some friends and they were going to hike to the summit, and do the loop and come back down," Bachman told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO.

They did not return at the end of the day, and at 11:19 p.m. Sunday, the two hikers - said to be unexperienced - were reported missing, according to Bachman.

A Sheriff's Search and Rescue unit and a Sheriff's helicopter were deployed in the search.
