Mid-City Pipe Bursts, Leaving Several Dozen Customers Dry

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Utility crews were working late Sunday morning to re-establish water service for at least 50 customers left dry when a 6-inch water main burst earlier in the day.

The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Ellsmere Avenue, in the Mid-City area, according to Jane Galbraith of the Department of Water and Power.

The work to repair the 6-inch main was expected to take until mid- or late afternoon to complete, Galbraith said.
