Mexican Singer, TV Star Arrested At Airport In Ontario

ONTARIO (AP) — A Mexican singer who stars in a Spanish-language TV show has been arrested at a Southern California airport on kidnapping and other charges.

The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that Larry Hernandez was taken into custody Friday at Ontario International Airport on a South Carolina warrant.

Airport police spokesman Rob Pendregon says Hernandez was arrested on charges of kidnapping and assault and battery as he waited to board a flight to Colorado.

The 38-year-old narco singer stars in "Larrymania," a reality show on NBC Universo.

The San Bernardino Sun says Hernandez was being held without bail and awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

Efforts to reach a representative for Hernandez were unsuccessful.
