Metrolink Train Hits Car Abandoned On Tracks In Pacoima

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say no one was injured Monday when a Metrolink train struck a car in Pacoima.

Paramedics were sent to the 10800 block of San Fernando Road at about 6:45 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

The crash involved Metrolink train 204 on the Antelope Valley line. The driver of the car fled the scene on foot, fire officials said.

About 220 passengers were on the train, and no injuries were reported, according to the LAFD.

The car may have been abandoned on the tracks by its driver, according to reports.

Some delays were expected, Metrolink said.
