Metrolink Commuter Train Strikes, Kills Pedestrian In Van Nuys

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A Metrolink commuter train struck and killed a pedestrian Friday in Van Nuys.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. in the area of 7720 Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The adult male victim, who apparently climbed over fencing to get on the tracks, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train was bound for Union Station on the Ventura County line.

Officials said the accident caused delays on Metrolink's Ventura County and Antelope Valley lines.

An investigation is underway.
