Metro Buses Collide In Pico-Union Area; 9 Hospitalized

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two Metro buses crashed Wednesday in the Pico-Union area west of downtown Los Angeles, but no major injuries were reported, officials said.

The collision occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Nearly 30 people were evaluated for possible injuries, and nine of them were transported for hospital treatment, including both bus drivers, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Humphrey said.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
