Men Who Allegedly Stole Wreckage From Paul Walker Crash Plead Not Guilty

SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — Two men accused of stealing wreckage from the crash that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend, Roger Rodas, pleaded not guilty Friday to grand theft and other charges.

Jameson Brooks Witty, 18, and Anthony Edward Janow, 25, are accused of stealing a roof panel from the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT in Santa Clarita on Nov. 30, 2013.

They are each charged with one felony count of grand theft of personal property and two misdemeanor counts each of destroying evidence and resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer.

Prosecutors allege Witty and Janow stole a piece of the Porsche from a tow truck carrying the vehicle while it was stopped at a red light, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Witt and Janow are scheduled to be back in court Feb. 25.

If convicted, they face a maximum sentence of four years, six months in jail.
