McDonald's Ad Featuring Boy Coming Out To His Dad Draws Both Praise, Criticism
(CBSLA.com) — A new McDonald's McCafe ad where a boy comes out to his father has received mixed reviews.
In the 90-second spot, the young son passes a coffee cup to his dad that reads "I like boys."
The father reads it and then abruptly leaves the table. After a few moments, he returns, picks up the cup and writes, "I accept that you like boys."
The ad was posted to McDonald's Facebook page in Taiwan Friday.
It's already been viewed millions of times and has received tens of thousands of "Likes."
But a religious group in Taiwan is reportedly urging a boycott of McDonald's and claims the fast-food giant is "polluting the next generation."
