Massive 'Kanye 2020?' Sign Affixed To Downtown LA Building
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — SKY2 was flying through Downtown Los Angeles Thursday morning when our cameraman caught this banner referencing Kanye West's announcement during last weekend's MTV Video Music Awards that he would run for president in 2020.
It's unclear who put the sign up, leaving its meaning up to interpretation - is it a hopeful endorsement or pop culture satire?
What also remains ambiguous is Kanye's motive behind the 2020 run. The rapper, who notoriously made headlines at the 2009 VMA's for stealing the mic during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, has a long history of making controversial statements for maximum media coverage. But this time it appears Kanye out-Kanye'd himself.
In any case, it seems like Kanye has won the support of at least one voter in Downtown L.A.
