Masked Robbery Suspect Wanted In East LA

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Deputies sought the public's help Monday to identify a masked robbery suspect who targeted several businesses in the East Los Angeles area.

According to the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station, the suspect rides what appears to be a 10-speed bicycle to each location.

Upon entering each store, the suspect typically demands personal jewelry.

"He enters the businesses with a handgun in one hand and a plastic grocery bag in the other," said Sgt. Thomas Smith. "He then retrieves a Halloween mask from the plastic bag and puts it on before entering the location."

Most recently, the suspect robbed a local bakery of money, according to deputies.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man believed to be between the ages of 30 to 40-years-old who stands about 5-foot-6 tall and weighs 160 pounds.

He speaks both Spanish and English.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of this suspect has been urged to contact the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station at (323) 981-5044.
