Man's Shooting Death Probed In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com)  —   Officers with the Oxnard Police Department are investigating a man's shooting death.

Police said they were dispatched to the 5200 block of Perkins Road around 5:30 Wednesday morning.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim sitting inside a parked vehicle.

Officials said medical personnel attempted to save the man's life but he died as a result of his wounds.

A preliminary investigation says the crime was not gang-related. Authorities also said the attack was not random.

The Oxnard Police and Coroner's Officer are working to positively identify the victim.

The identity of the deceased person will be released by the Ventura County Coroner's Office.

The suspect is at large. Officials did not give a motive for the murder.
