Police Say Murdered Man's Body Dumped On Residential Street Of Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Police are investigating a murder in Anaheim.

A man's body was found around 11 p.m. Tuesday in the middle of the street on the 1900 block of West Embassy Avenue near South Florette Street, Anaheim police report.

Lt. Eric Trapp says detectives believe the body was likely dumped there.

K-9 units lead investigators to a suspicious vehicle -- a white Ford F-150 pickup truck --  a couple blocks west, that they believe is tied to the case. The truck has been impounded as evidence.

When they first arrived on scene, police believed they were dealing with a possible hit-and-run accident.

They later determined the victim, identified as Felipe Viera Lugo, 45, was murdered.

Authorities did not give a cause of death.
