Man Wanted For Armed Robbery Of Gardena Dollar Store

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday sought a suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a dollar store over the weekend in Gardena.

The robbery happened Sunday at the S & A Dollar Store, located at 1042 W. Rosecrans Avenue, officials said.

According to police, the suspect entered the store, grabbed a soda from the refrigerator and acted as if he was going to pay for it.

"When the clerk opened the register the suspect pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded all the money from the cash register," police said.

He then ran from the store in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 30s. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and had a bandage on the left side of his neck at the time of the crime.
