Man Wanted For Armed Bank Robbery In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — A man was wanted Thursday for robbing an Orange County bank at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at the US Bank, located at 12112 Valley View Street in Garden Grove, at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The suspect "drew a black semi-auto handgun and demanded money from one of the tellers on duty," Lt. Ben Stauffer said.

He then jumped over the counter and started emptying the money out an employee's work station.

"When he was finished getting the money from the first workstation, the suspect went to the second teller's location and took the money she had removed," Lt. Stauffer added.

The suspect, described as an Asian man in his 20s, then fled the scene on foot.

He was wearing a black long-sleeved t-shirt, black baseball hat and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information should contact the Garden Grove Police Department at (714)741-5704.
