Man Sustains Fatal Injury From Fall At LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man has sustained a fatal injury from a fall at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday.

The incident was reported just after 9:30 a.m. near the parking lot of Terminal 4, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department, indicated that the fall occurred from an upper level roadway to the main roadway below.

"Los Angeles Airport Police responded to welfare check of an unknown male in the roadway at 400 World Way and West way," said Alicia Hernandez, an LAX spokesperson. "LAFD responded to render medical aid and determined the male victim was deceased. LAPD/Coroner will determine the cause of death."

The circumstances surrounding the person's death were not immediately known or disclosed.

Hernandez said foul play was not suspected, according to a preliminary investigation.
