LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man is in custody Wednesday on suspicion of sexually battering female USC students for the past two months.

Javier David Cardosa, of South Los Angeles, faces 12 counts of sexual battery, USC officials said. He is not affiliated with the university.

Between Feb. 21 and April 15, several female students were approached by a man who ran or walked by them and struck or grabbed them on the buttocks before fleeing. Cardosa, who was booked as Javier David Cardoza, is being held on $240,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail records.
