Man Suspected In Assault Barricades Self Inside Monrovia Home

MONROVIA (CBSLA.com) — A suspect is barricaded inside a home in an unincorporated portion of Monrovia, authorities said.

The incident in the 2300 block of California Avenue unfolded about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement.

Authorities said the suspect is wanted in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon. The alleged victim was described only as a female.

A Special Weapons Team has responded, and is working to resolve the situation, the statement said.

Meanwhile, authorities said neighboring homes have been evacuated.
