Man struck and killed by motorcycle in Santa Ana

A man was struck and killed by a motorcycle in the Riverview West community of Santa Ana late Saturday evening. 

It happened at around 7 p .m. in the 1000 block of N. Euclid Street near Hazard Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. 

Investigators say that the man was walking eastbound on Euclid Street when he was hit by a motorcyclist driving southbound. 

Paramedics attempted to treat the victim, identified as 58-year-old Garden Grove man Hoang Mai Phan, at the scene but he was later declared dead. 

Police say that they do not believe drugs or alcohols were factors in the collision.
